Thank you for your interest in Canyon Sunrise. I first opened my doors in 1995 after a couple of years of searching for the right piece of property, coming up with my design and actually building the cabins. I built the Sundance and Mariposa first and ran those for a few years and in 2001 decided it was time to expand and built the Dragonfly. How did I get into the business? I don't know. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time and it has definitely been an amazing experience. I personally designed, built, decorated, landscaped and maintain the property myself. Of course I had some help from family along the way but this has been my project. I love to travel and have stayed in some really great places and some really bad places. What I have created at Canyon Sunrise is the place that I would want to stay. It's a little modern and a little rustic, it's comfortable, romantic, secluded, it's everything you would want it to be.
At Canyon Sunrise you not only get a bed. You get your own private pool and hottub. They are not shared with other cabins. If you decide you would rather stay in and prepare your own meal there is a full kitchen. You also get privacy and seclusion. You don't have to worry about listening to the guest in the next room like all the hotels. The 3 cabins are spread out on 5 acres and buffered by lots of trees.
I have had many other careers prior to Canyon Sunrise but this has by far been the most rewarding. I have worked as an actor, published a local magazine, built houses, made geological survey maps, sold cell phones back when they were bricks and sacked groceries.
I am also a professional photographer. I shoot mostly fashion and music. My camera is always with me and is the main reasons for my travels. Feel free to take a look at my work at www.rodneybursiel.com
Thank you, and enjoy your stay!
