I've been in Wimberley with my cabins I built since 1995. They are a reflection of my artistic eye. I designed, built, decorated and landscaped each cabin. I've traveled to some amazing places, and I'm always noticing what works and what doesn't work in the lodging business, so my cabins are what I feel "works" ~ it is a combination of rustic and modern, finished with as much recycled material as I could find, and decorated with mementos from my life experiences. I have worked as an actor, published a local magazine, built houses, made geological survey maps, sold cell phones back when they were bricks, and sacked groceries. I am now a professional photographer. The world is my subject. My work can be found here: www.rodneybursiel.com .
Wimberley has been a place to relax, heal, unwind and embrace my creative energy since I first found it. I bought these 5 acres and walked the land until I saw where each cabin should go. The Mariposa was first, followed by the Sundance, and a few years later the Dragonfly came along. My focus is in keeping as many trees as possible, to maintain the integrity of the land, while still creating something magical for guests to enjoy.
You have the privilege of not seeing the other cabins from your cabin. They truly are private. You may hear laughter carry through the air in the distance, but rarely do voices carry from cabin to cabin. 5 acres and lots of cedar and oaks provide the perfect buffer for privacy.
I maintain the property as well, and can always be reached while you're here if you should need anything. Thank you for considering Canyon Sunrise for your next get-away!
